Holy cow. Anyone fancy a stint as Mick Potter for a week? The man in charge of Saints' transitional period really has it all to do. If rumours are to be believed, the Lance Todd Legend himself is due to return this weekend.

So, where do Saints place their bets? It's the ultimate Bart Simpson paradox. You're damned if you do, damned if you don't!"

It must be horrible to be in Potter's shoes right about now. In 2007, Saints entrusted Matty Smith to guide the side through the Play-Offs. His field kicking was accepted as a major reason for Saints battling their way through one of the toughest semi-final matches ever witnessed at Knowsley Road. For the final, Sean Long returned. Saints were comprehensively out done. Yet there are still certain circles suggesting if Anderson had possessed the metal to leave Long out, it may have been different.

They are idiots.

When Long was reported to be injured after the Salford game, it signalled an opportunity that we had all waited for. Kyle Eastmond was given the chance to step forward. When you have someone like Long, it is borderline impossible to find time for a player like Eastmond to step into the fray and adapt to the rigours of the top flight. He had done so earlier in a variety of positions, but rarely was he given at chance at his natural position of scrum half.

Suffice to say, Long's injury was blessing in disguise. Kyle Eastmond destroyed Warrington in his first game in this spell, his absence was felt in the defeat to Wakefield. He impressed against Harlequins, and his lively antics and eye for a hole propelled him to deity level with his last gasp try against Wigan.

It is fair to say Eastmond or Long is a harder debate than Smith or Long. But you then have to start asking questions.

Would Longy have had the speed to capitalise on the gap the Eastmond scored from against Wigan?

Would Longy have made the school boy errors like passing to a standing James Graham that Eastmond made?

Will Kyle Eastmond's speed of thought and body be the key to unlocking Huddersfield on Sunday?

For each argument, there is a counter argument.

The most compelling question/argument must be is Long fit enough for potentially the most physical of challenges that Huddersfield will pose?

Whatever Potter decides, if Saints' lose, you can guarantee the fans will suggest it was the wrong one.

Pressure's on Harry. Time to work your magic.
